Job Description

Position Summary

The Techno-Commercial Sales & Project Engineer will be responsible for managing the complete lifecycle of Pre-Engineered Building (PEB) projects—from business development and client acquisition to engineering coordination, production planning, dispatch, erection coordination, and project completion.

The role requires strong technical knowledge of steel structures combined with commercial acumen to understand customer requirements, prepare technical solutions, coordinate internal departments, and ensure profitable project execution.


Key Responsibilities

1. Business Development & Sales

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities for PEB structures.

  • Meet architects, consultants, contractors, industries, and project owners.

  • Conduct technical sales presentations and product demonstrations.

  • Understand customer requirements and prepare customized PEB solutions.

  • Participate in tender submissions and techno-commercial negotiations.

  • Prepare quotations and project cost estimates.

  • Achieve monthly and annual sales targets.

  • Maintain customer relationship throughout project execution.

  • Develop repeat business and key accounts.


2. Technical Engineering

  • Understand client drawings and project requirements.

  • Perform preliminary structural planning and load assessment.

  • Coordinate with structural design engineers for detailed engineering.

  • Verify design inputs including:

    • Dead Load

    • Live Load

    • Wind Load

    • Seismic Load

    • Crane Load (if applicable)

    • Roof & Wall Cladding Requirements

  • Review fabrication drawings before production.

  • Ensure structural integrity and compliance with applicable standards.

  • Coordinate revisions requested by clients or consultants.


3. Project Planning

  • Prepare project execution schedule.

  • Develop detailed Gantt Charts for every project.

  • Define project milestones.

  • Monitor project progress against planned schedule.

  • Track critical activities and identify delays.

  • Conduct weekly project review meetings.

  • Submit progress reports to management.


4. Production Planning & Coordination

  • Prepare production plans based on project timelines.

  • Coordinate with:

    • Design

    • Procurement

    • Production

    • Fabrication

    • Welding

    • Painting

    • Quality

    • Dispatch

  • Issue production requirements to factory.

  • Ensure timely availability of materials.

  • Monitor production capacity and machine utilization.

  • Coordinate manpower allocation.

  • Track fabrication progress.

  • Resolve production bottlenecks.


5. Dispatch & Logistics

  • Prepare dispatch schedules.

  • Coordinate with logistics teams.

  • Ensure material reaches site as per erection sequence.

  • Monitor dispatch documentation.

  • Coordinate transportation planning.

  • Track delivery status.


6. Project Coordination

  • Act as single point of contact between:

    • Client

    • Design Team

    • Factory

    • Procurement

    • Site Team

  • Conduct regular coordination meetings.

  • Manage project communication.

  • Resolve technical and commercial issues.

  • Monitor project profitability.

  • Ensure timely completion.


7. Cost Control & Profitability

  • Monitor project costs.

  • Optimize material utilization.

  • Reduce wastage.

  • Control production losses.

  • Ensure project margins are maintained.

  • Identify cost-saving opportunities.


8. Quality & Safety

  • Ensure compliance with quality standards.

  • Verify fabrication quality.

  • Coordinate inspections.

  • Ensure adherence to project specifications.

  • Follow company safety procedures.

  • Support ISO Quality Management System.


9. ERP & Reporting

  • Update ERP system.

  • Generate production schedules.

  • Track inventory.

  • Monitor work orders.

  • Prepare:

    • Daily Reports

    • Weekly Reports

    • Monthly MIS

    • Project Status Reports

    • Production Reports

    • Dispatch Reports

    • Sales Pipeline Reports

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.

  • Master's Degree is an added advantage.


Experience

  • 5–10 years in PEB, Structural Steel, or Industrial Construction.

  • Experience in both technical sales and project execution.

  • Experience in factory coordination and production planning.

  • Experience in industrial, warehouse, factory, logistics, and commercial building projects.
