Reports to:  Finance Manager

Location: Chandol, Kathmandu, Nepal

Shift: Standard (09:00 AM to 05:00 PM) from Sunday to Friday

Position Overview

The Senior Finance Officer will be responsible for analyzing financial data, preparing forecasts and financial models, identifying trends and variances, monitoring KPIs, supporting budgeting processes, and providing recommendations to improve financial performance and operational efficiency across the company. This position is primarily focused on financial analysis and business decision support.

Roles & Responsibilities:

1.Financial Analysis and Reporting:

• Collect, organize, and analyze financial and operational data for reporting and decision-making purposes.

• Conduct preventive controls and reviews on financial and operational activities.

• Develop financial models and perform data analysis to support business decisions.

• Ensure effective communication and coordination across departments regarding financial information and analysis.

• Support the finance team in obtaining accurate financial data from different departments.

• Prepare and present financial performance reports for leadership reviews and decision-making.

• Improve productivity by automating reporting processes, identifying discrepancies, and implementing corrective actions.

• Prepare weekly KPI reports, analyze trends, and provide insights.

• Prepare and reconcile Tax/VAT summaries while managing accounts with payable and receivable functions.

• Support audit activities, tax return filings, and tax clearance processes.

• Handle the responsibilities of company accountants during their absence when required.

• Maintain tax files, company records, and perform other finance-related activities as needed for efficient operations

2.Financial Strategy and Planning:

• Analyze company financial data and provide recommendations to strengthen internal control systems.

• Collaborate closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

• Conduct variance analysis, review historical performance, identify trends, and suggest improvements.

• Develop forecasts and maintain financial models to support strategic planning and decision-making.

3.Coordination

• Coordinate with various departments to ensure financial information remains accurate and up to date.

• Perform additional responsibilities assigned by the line manager.

Skills and Qualifications

• Minimum 1+ years of experience in finance, financial analysis, or related roles.

• Semi-qualified Chartered Accountant (CA).

• Strong expertise in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.

• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.

• Knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, taxation, and compliance requirements.

• Experience in financial reporting, variance analysis, and performance monitoring.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work effectively in a dynamic environment.
