Job Summary:
The Plant Manager/Factory Manager is responsible for overseeing all manufacturing operations, ensuring production targets, quality standards, safety regulations, cost controls, and workforce productivity are achieved. The role involves planning, organizing, directing, and controlling factory activities to maximize operational efficiency and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production Management
Plan, organize, and monitor daily production activities.
Ensure production targets are achieved within budget and timeline.
Optimize production processes to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity.
2. Operations Management
Manage overall plant operations, including production, maintenance, logistics, and warehousing.
Develop operational policies and procedures.
Monitor equipment performance and ensure maximum utilization.
Coordinate with supply chain and procurement teams to ensure material availability.
3. Quality Assurance
Ensure products meet company and regulatory quality standards.
Implement quality control systems and corrective actions.
Monitor production quality metrics and customer complaints.
Lead quality improvement initiatives.
4. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
Promote a safe working environment and safety culture.
Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
Ensure environmental compliance and sustainability practices.
5. Maintenance Management
Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs.
Ensure machinery and equipment are maintained for optimal performance.
Minimize equipment downtime and production interruptions.
6. Team Leadership & Human Resource Management
Lead, supervise, and motivate production and support teams.
Manage workforce planning, recruitment, training, and performance evaluations.
Foster employee engagement and teamwork.
Address employee relations and disciplinary matters.
7. Cost Control & Budget Management
Prepare and manage plant operational budgets.
Monitor production costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Improve resource utilization and operational efficiency.
Analyze financial and operational performance reports.
8. Compliance & Reporting
Ensure compliance with labor laws, industry regulations, and company policies.
Prepare operational reports and KPI dashboards for management.
Support internal and external audits.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Production efficiency and output achievement
Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
Product quality and defect rates
Manufacturing cost per unit
Downtime reduction
Safety incident frequency rate

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.
Master's degree (MBA/Operations Management) preferred.
