Job Purpose
The NOC Shift Lead is responsible for supervising day-to-day network monitoring and operations during an assigned shift. The role ensures network availability, timely incident resolution, effective escalation, adherence to operational procedures, and coordination among technical teams to maintain service quality and minimize network downtime.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise NOC engineers and operators during assigned shifts to ensure continuous network monitoring and service availability.
Monitor network performance, alarms, outages, and service degradation across telecom infrastructure.
Coordinate incident detection, troubleshooting, prioritization, escalation, and resolution.
Ensure timely response to critical incidents in accordance with defined SLAs and escalation procedures.
Coordinate with transmission, IP/MPLS, core network, radio access network (RAN), IT, field operations, and vendor support teams.
Track network incidents and ensure accurate logging, documentation, and status updates in ticketing systems.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), network availability, service quality, and incident response times.
Prepare shift handover reports and communicate outstanding incidents, planned maintenance, and operational risks to the incoming team.
Ensure compliance with approved SOPs, change management procedures, and incident management processes.
Support major incident management, service restoration, and post-incident reviews.
Validate planned maintenance activities and monitor their impact on network services.
Coach team members, allocate shift tasks, and ensure adherence to operational discipline.
Identify recurring incidents and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
Maintain effective communication with internal stakeholders and external service providers.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
Relevant professional certifications in networking or telecommunications are an advantage.
Required Experience
3–5 years of experience in telecom or network operations.
At least 1–2 years of experience in a supervisory, shift coordination, or senior NOC engineering role.
Experience in incident management, network monitoring, troubleshooting, and technical escalation.
