Job Summary

The GIS & Platform Intern will assist in the collection, analysis, visualization, and management of geospatial data while supporting the maintenance and enhancement of digital platforms. The intern will work closely with GIS specialists, software developers, and project teams to ensure accurate spatial data management, platform functionality, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform data munging and cleaning to convert data into the desired format.

• Collect, recheck, and cross-verify data and add points of interest to the digital form.

• Create, update, and maintain maps, layers, and attributes in GIS.

• Operate routing and mapping tools such as QGIS and JOSM.

• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity through regular quality checks.

• Support digitization and geospatial database management activities.

• Generate reports, maps, and spatial analysis as required.

• Document processes, methodologies, and data standards.

• Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and deliverables.

• Stay updated with GIS tools, technologies, and industry best practices.

Qualification & Skills

• Basic to intermediate knowledge of GIS and routing systems.

• Proficiency in QGIS and JOSM (OpenStreetMap).

• Knowledge of MS Office suite, especially Excel.

• Understanding of geospatial data formats and coordinate systems.

• Good written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks effectively.

• Willingness to learn new tools, processes, and technologies.

• Team player with a proactive and positive attitude.
