Job Summary:
A Food Technologist is responsible for developing, improving, and ensuring the safety and quality of food products. The role involves research, formulation, quality testing, regulatory compliance, and production support to deliver safe, innovative, and cost-effective food products.
Key Responsibilities:
Support production scaling efforts by translating lab formulations to commercial production settings with minimal variability.
Collaborate with production teams to troubleshoot technical issues and improve manufacturing efficiency.
Lead formulation of iced tea and flavored beverages based on market trends, consumer preferences, and company strategy.
Conduct ingredient research, pilot trials, sensory evaluations and iterative taste testing to achieve desired flavor, texture, and shelf stability
Establish and maintain quality assurance protocols to ensure products meet internal standards and regulatory compliance (e.g., HACCP, GMP).
Conduct routine testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products to monitor safety, consistency, and shelf life.
Prepare technical documentation, product specifications, SOPs, and labeling requirements in line with regulatory standards.
Maintain accurate records of product development activities, test results, and quality audits.
Work with procurement, marketing, and operations to source quality ingredients, align product launches with market demand, and support promotional activities.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Dairy Technology, or related field.
2-4 years of experience in food manufacturing / R&D (preferred).
Knowledge of food safety regulations and quality systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good understanding of food chemistry and microbiology.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong foundation in beverage formulation, sensory analysis, stability testing, and ingredient functionality.
Good understanding of quality systems (GMP, HACCP, ISO standards) and regulatory compliance.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
