Job Summary

The Dishwasher is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen by washing dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment. The role also involves keeping the dishwashing area clean, organized, and compliant with food safety and hygiene standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Wash and sanitize dishes, glasses, cutlery, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils.

• Operate dishwashing machines and use cleaning chemicals safely.

• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen and dishwashing area.

• Sort and properly store clean dishes, utensils, and equipment.

• Remove garbage and dispose of waste according to workplace procedures.

• Clean kitchen floors, sinks, countertops, and other assigned areas.

• Assist kitchen staff with basic cleaning and preparation tasks when required.

• Ensure adequate supply of cleaning materials and report shortages to the supervisor.

• Follow food safety, health, and workplace safety standards.

• Handle kitchen equipment carefully to prevent damage.

• Support the kitchen team during busy service periods.

• Perform other duties assigned by the Chef or Kitchen Supervisor.

Qualifications & Requirements

• No formal educational qualification is necessarily required.

• Previous experience as a dishwasher, kitchen helper, or similar role is preferred.

• Basic understanding of kitchen hygiene and sanitation.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

• Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods.
