Job summary

The Commis I will assist in preparing and cooking Nepali and Indian dishes while maintaining food quality, hygiene, taste, and presentation. The role includes daily mise en place, ingredient preparation, following standard recipes and portion sizes, maintaining kitchen cleanliness and safety, and supporting senior chefs during service. The Commis I will work closely with the Chef and kitchen team to ensure smooth and timely food production. Success in this role means consistent food quality, proper hygiene, teamwork, discipline, and timely completion of assigned kitchen duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Chef de Partie and senior chefs with daily kitchen operations.

• Prepare ingredients such as vegetables, meat, seafood, sauces, and garnishes according to recipes and standards.

• Perform basic cooking and food preparation tasks.

• Maintain proper portion sizes and presentation standards.

• Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation procedures.

• Keep workstations, kitchen equipment, and storage areas clean and organized.

• Check the quality and freshness of ingredients before use.

• Store food correctly and follow FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures.
