Job Summary

The Cashier is responsible for handling cash and other payment transactions accurately, maintaining transaction records, issuing receipts, and providing efficient customer service. The role requires strong attention to detail, honesty, and basic accounting skills.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Cash Handling & Billing

• Operate the POS/billing system to prepare customer bills and process payments (cash, card, mobile wallets).

• Issue receipts, refunds, and correct change for all transactions.

• Maintain a balanced cash drawer; perform opening/closing counts and daily reconciliations.

• Keep accurate daily sales and transaction records and report discrepancies immediately.

2. Customer Service

• Greet customers warmly and assist with billing-related inquiries.

• Answer basic questions about menu items, promotions, and payment options.

• Handle complaints or issues calmly and escalate to the manager when needed. 

3. Cafe Operations Support

• Keep the cashier counter and front area clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.

• Coordinate with kitchen and service staff regarding orders, payments, and special requests.

• Assist with restocking front-of-house items and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

• Minimum +2 (or equivalent); bachelor’s degree preferred.

• At least 1 year of experience as a cashier in a cafe/restaurant or retail environment is desirable. 

• Familiarity with POS/billing software and basic computer skills.
