Job Summary
Driving sales in supermarkets and retail chains by developing strategies, managing key accounts (supermarkets, grocery stores), negotiating deals, overseeing promotions, leading a sales team, and analyzing market trends to meet targets for profitable growth and brand visibility. Key duties include building strong retailer relationships, executing in-store activities, managing sales budgets, and ensuring alignment with marketing for campaigns.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy Planning :- Develop and implement sales strategies, set targets, forecast demand, and plan annual/monthly activities for the modern trade channel.
Account Management : Manage relationships with key retail partners (supermarkets, departmental store , marts), negotiate contracts, terms, pricing, and secure favorable placement.
Sales Execution : Drive sales growth, manage promotions, ensure effective product visibility, and optimize shelf space.
Team Leadership : Recruit, train, motivate, and manage a sales team (supervisors, executives) to achieve goals.
Market Analysis : Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and consumer behavior to identify opportunities and challenges.
Cross Functional Collaboration : Work with marketing, logistics, and finance to align initiatives, manage budgets, and ensure smooth operations.
Reporting : Prepare and present sales reports, performance metrics, and insights to senior management.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
Proven sales track record in FMCG/retail, with experience in key account management.
Strong negotiation, relationship building, and communication skills.
Analytical skills for data-driven decision-making.
Leadership and team motivation abilities.
Familiarity with trade marketing, promotions, and retail operations.
Own two wheeler is a must
3-5 years of experience in electronics item sales
Typical Reporting Structure
Reports to Senior Management (e.g., Sales Director, Senior Manager).
Manages Sales Supervisors, Executives, Merchandisers.
