Job Summary

The Barista Trainer is responsible for training and developing baristas to deliver consistently high-quality coffee, beverages, customer service, and café operations. The role involves practical training, performance assessment, coaching, and ensuring adherence to company standards for beverage preparation, hygiene, equipment handling, and service.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct practical and theoretical training for new and existing baristas.

• Train staff on espresso preparation, coffee brewing, milk steaming, latte art, and beverage presentation.

• Teach proper use, cleaning, and basic maintenance of coffee machines, grinders, and café equipment.

• Develop and deliver barista training materials, demonstrations, and practical sessions.

• Assess trainees' technical skills and provide constructive feedback.

• Conduct refresher and advanced training based on operational requirements.

• Ensure baristas follow standardized recipes, portion controls, and beverage quality standards.

• Train employees on food safety, personal hygiene, workplace safety, and café cleanliness.

• Coach staff on customer service, communication, order accuracy, and upselling techniques.

• Monitor barista performance and identify training and development needs.

• Maintain training records, assessment results, and employee progress reports.

• Support new café openings, staff onboarding, and operational training when required.

• Keep updated on coffee trends, brewing techniques, equipment, and industry best practices.

• Work closely with café managers to address performance gaps and improve service quality.

Required Qualifications

• Diploma or certification in Barista Skills, Hospitality Management, Food & Beverage, or a related field.

• Professional barista certification or recognized coffee-training qualification is preferred.

• Minimum 2–3 years of professional barista experience.

• Previous experience as a Barista Trainer, Senior Barista, Café Supervisor, or similar role is preferred.
